So.... as embarrassing as it is. I need to celebrate a little. My work is doing a "Biggest Looser" contest, by percentage of weight lost. And I know that I have a very good chance of winning. A very good chance.
There are two embarrassing things about this.
1- That I have to admit that I need to loose weight, because I am 24 (almost) and I should not have to loose weight yet.
2- nope.... there is just the one embarrassing thing.
Anyway. I am down 6.5 lbs. And I needed to tell someone. Whoot Whoot! I feel so proud of me! Only 33 to go!
My hope is that because the last 25 lbs have been gained in the last year... they will fall off easier. I heard somewhere that weight you have been carrying for years takes longer to get off. SO I am going to be awesome and get rid of it NOW! The last 15 lbs I have been battling since high school.... SO who knows right? I am going to pray hard and do something crazy... like the HCG diet. or something.
Thanks for letting me tell you Katie. It is hard for me celebrate, because then I have to admit I have a problem simultaneously. Therefore.... no facebook.... no church friends..... no one.
So I guess my question is, when did you gain 33 pounds that you need to lose? Because last time I saw you, which was NOT that long ago, you did not have 33 pounds to lose....or anywhere close to that?
ReplyDeleteAnd, if it makes you feel better, I gained like 6 pounds in one day. Literally. Here's what happens: I weight myself every morning after I exercise and before I shower. So, on Saturday we go out to eat Mexican food. I know I didn't eat THAT MUCH food.. I mean, I ate a lot...but not 6 pounds worth. Anyway, the next time I weigh myself I've gained 6 pounds. What the heck???!!! I'm going to stick with "The baby had a growth spurt"...
Also, BIG CONGRATS on losing 6.5 pounds. That is amazing!! I am proud of you :)
ReplyDeleteAlso also, don't do something crazy like starve yourself or go on an all carb diet or a no carb diet or a grapefruit diet or a south beach diet... because that would be bad news bears.
ReplyDeleteI swear I am not trying to brag. I really am not. But my mom weighed FIFTY FIVE pounds LESS than I weigh now(or did a month ago), when she was my age. AND she had already HAD TWO KIDS!!!!! So somehow I hide the weight really well.
ReplyDeleteSo just assuming that my mom and I are different people (which we are) I decided to loose 40 pounds instead of 55.
I have been trying to do this really smart. Lots of fruits and lots of vegtables, low-fat-protien, and a small amount of carbs everyday. Avoids starches and sugars! Pretty simple! Oh and working out 3 days a week, and walking on the other days. I should be running.... but I am not. Maybe I will start kicking that into gear too.... I dunno.
Oh AND I have gained the last 25 pounds in this last year. I am pretty sure that it is harder to loose wieght you have had for years,. Since mine is new I think that is why it is coming off so fast!
I am super excited for you! Doing it the right way is going to help keep it off too, because a lot of times the fad diets help people lose quickly but then they gain it all right back quickly. Go Kara! :) And I'm sure that I am just gaining all of that weight you are losing.. just pass it on over to me :)
ReplyDeleteYou are pregnant.... that's not really fair.....
ReplyDeleteEvery THINKS I am pregnant... but I have been getting fatter. That is one of my main reasons for trying to loose it. ;)
That is true.. but... I am only supposed to gain one pound a week. Just one. Not 6.
ReplyDeleteWell, I am super excited for you losing it! It sounds like you'll be where you want to be in no time. And I'm sure it is good for Ally, who probably LOVES going on those walks.
So, I also think it is cool that you have a personal trainer. It always sounds so cool when people have personal trainers. How was the training time last time?
