Hyper Organized

So, do you ever get so obsessed with organizing your calendar that you end up wasting like HOURS of time trying to get everything arranged instead of actually doing the things that you need to do?

That has been me for this past week.

I have been trying to get everything arranged so that I am more or less done with life events by April 20th, so I can give myself a week to just relax. So far, I think I've got everything set. Now watch the baby come early :/

Bad news: Found out that I need to write a 30-50 page paper in the next 3 weeks or so. Oops. So, I have been diligently working that into my schedule. Starting Thursday, that is what I will be doing ALL DAY LONG. And NOT arranging my calendar. Because that is what I am spending today doing. Then I will just follow my schedule, and not arrange any more on the calendar.

UNBELIEVEAVBLERJKS

No way.

No. Freakin. WAy.

I was just working so dilligently (with minor pauses) and my computer decided to randomly freak out and murder my document.

I lost everything.

I am going to have to redo the last three hours of work.... on a FRIDAY!

The battle of the photos!

That's right, we can't decide which is worse!

Reasons Katie should move to AZ

1. Kara lives here
2. Great sunny, hot weather. No more icky snow.
3. Kara lives here
4. You only have to renew your driver's license every 65 years. Speaking of which here >>> is a photo of my old one that I promised to show you. Bad eh?
5. Kara lives here and our kids could grow up and get married!
6. Only 6 hours from the beach! Just far enough away that the politics and traffic of CA can't quite reach you, but just close enough you can visit the beach any weekend you like.
7. Cacti are.... neat. Or at least some people think so (I believe you are one of them).
8. Kara Lives Here..... and we could set our husbands up on playdates. I am sure they'll have a great time.
9. Best gun laws in the Nation. We make TX look liberal (when it comes to guns)
10. Mesa.. LOWWWW property taxes and cost of living.
11. Kara liv...... you get the gist.
12. Safe weather, no snowstorms, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, or wind. oh oh oh, it hailed once. The scariest thing you have to face is drought, and we are SO good with our water we sell most of it to CA.
13. Your fmaily lives here
14. Your parents want to move here
15. You want to live here
16. Kara lives here and we could be next door neighbors and dig a secret tunnel under our houses with a hang out space that only we know about. Awesome.
17. You need a babysitter. I am a really good babysitter.
18. Mexican Food! Yay!!!!
19. Grid system roads that are WIDE and CLEAN and make sense.
20. Indian Ruins. One of the COOLEST things about american history that you can't find anywhere else in the world. And they are everywhere here.
21. Kara Lives here.

Tune in next week for more...

Miracles Happen

Right now, as I am typing this, it is over 80 degrees. In the middle of March. In Minnesota. Miracles really do happen. It has been so warm that we might have to turn on the air conditioner if it doesn't let up, which is just absolutely insane this early in the year.

I guess this is a lesson to be careful what you wish for. I was hoping the cold weather would end quickly because my coats were getting too tight... And actually, I am still glad I wished for that, and I am even more glad that it came true!!

I am really looking forward to breakfast this morning... I think I will have some "amazing-in-a-container" on my cereal.

Life is good.

Tick..tock...

I think today that I will be relying on this blog as a good time waster. It will probably be a slow day in clinic today, and I am too tired to work on school work or do my capstone or anything else productive. I just want to nap.

Bad Feelings

Facebook gives me really bad feelings. Why do you think that is?

I'll show you mine, if you'll show me yours.....

HAHAHA. I know i know, the title for this is bad... but hopefully no one really looks at this blog but you and I... ;)

I will try to remember to get a photo of my old license so you can see how awful it is....

Update

I did it, I went to the DMV. And it was the worst experience ever.

So, here's the thing. All I needed to do was change the address on my driver's license. I was thinking, this surely can't take very long, maybe just submit a quick form and that's it. So, I haven't actually showered yet this morning because I am planning on exercising in a little bit here. I woke up, changed into a Minnesota Vikings pullover sweatshirt and some jeans, pulled my hair into a messy ponytail, and went to the DMV.

Well, I finally arrive and fill out the form and stand in line (I stood in line for a grand total of 2 minutes - it MUST be a DMV record) and when I get to the front she asks if I want to change the license for $13, or if I want to "early renew" for $24. If I change the license, then I need to go back next year to renew it. If I "early renew" then I don't have to go to the DMV for another 4 years. I think the choice is obvious.

So I decide to early renew. But then I realize what early renew means... It means I have to get a new driver's license photo.

Crap.

I could leave and come back again, but I don't want to come to the DMV anymore than I really absolutely HAVE to.

So, I get my picture taken. Wearing a big sloppy sweatshirt (because my belly is too big to wear any NORMAL fitting sweatshirts), with my hair a complete mess, no make-up on, and a fat face because I am 8 months pregnant. AND, she says to me "the camera will flash in about 5 seconds" so instead of standing there smiling for 5 seconds, I decided to count in my head. Well, I got the count wrong, so I am not even smiling.

Basically, I look like a deranged psychopath in my driver's license photo. And I will have it with me for the next 4 years.

I kind of look like this smiley, only much much worse:

Need some motivation...

I have to go to the DMV today. :( I have been sitting here for at least half an hour trying to motivate myself to go.

Just do it.

Just go.

The earlier you go, the shorter the lines are (probably? hopefully?)

Come on, it is NOT that bad...

But you know what? It is that bad, and the lines are NEVER short, and it's going to be soooooooo painful!!!

Ok. You know what? I am going. Right now. I am leaving the computer and going.

Thinking (again)

I have been thinking about this blog. Oringinally, I think we started the blog to express random thoughts and ideas that came to us peridocially. Like....

"What hurts worse? Smashing your fingernail between two 5lb weights, or trying to sneeze and cough at the same time.? Well I have done both."

Or

"Why is a kickball red? Does it have to be red? I want an orange one. Or a yellow one..."

etc.

But I think it has turned into a very clever way for me to keep in touch with Katie! Or to waste just a little more time at work. Either one, both favorites, both good.
